Who we are
Meet the team.
We’re a small enough team that everyone genuinely knows everyone — and large enough to deliver programmes across the UK without compromising on quality. Most of our engineers and surveyors have been with us for years. In an industry where high-volume churn is the norm, that’s worth saying out loud. The reason is simple: we look after our people, we pay properly, we invest in their training, and we trust them to take pride in the work. They reward us — and you — by doing exactly that.
Our standards
Everyone on your job is here because we trust them — completely.
We don’t operate a wide network of unfamiliar subcontractors. Every engineer on a Smart Energie project is either directly employed by us, or works with us regularly enough that we know exactly how they work — how they treat a customer’s home, how they leave a job at the end of day three, how they communicate when something unexpected appears.
All our engineers hold the relevant certifications for their trade — Gas Safe for gas, MCS for renewables, NAPIT for electrical work, BPEC and similar for heat pumps. But the certificates are the entry ticket, not the standard. Beyond the qualifications, we look for people who take real pride in their craft. Who clean up after themselves without being asked. Who explain what they’re doing as they go, not because the manual says to but because it’s the considerate thing to do.
We invest in continuous training as the industry evolves — particularly as the move towards PAS 2035-aligned retrofit deepens, as battery and heat-pump technology matures, and as electrical regulations tighten. An engineer who stopped learning when they passed their last exam is not someone we want on our projects.
